Singularity

Ray Kurzweil describes singularity as technology advancing to the point where were not able to predict what will come in the future. We are already dependant on technology but since it is changing so fast that soon the capabilities of technology will be smarter than any human.

Kurzweil predicts in the future Artificial Intelligences will replace the human race and will be the dominant form of life. New technology that is coming out allows for much higher advancement to work from.  

There are 6 Epochs that the universe will go through. We are just entering epoch 5 which merges human technology with artificial intelligence. We will be able to combine our new technology can be used to create new forms of life.

He has many predictions for the future. By 2014 Kurzweil predicts that house cleaning robots will become commonly used. In 2030 he predicts mind uploading will be possible.

Flatworld

I think we all know how rapidly the world is changing, not awlays for the better. The big change is technology in countries like China, India, Russia. The way we view science is very different and futuristic. Everyone and everything is getting bigger and better. We all will have access to new innovative technology.

Skank Blog

I think that this is kind of a funny situation. If this woman is 40 years old going and partying at nightclubs getting with guys then its just freedom of speech. The man that wrote this was a slanderer when he was calling her a whore and skank. When he calls her a psychotic and liar then that's not breaking any rules.

Blogger Dies

I think that this is a very sad story. There is a big problem with freedom of speech in Iran. The government is trying to watch over the internet, watching blog sites and social networking sites, making sure nobody is talking about politics or degrading the government and people. This case is very sad because there are many other bloggers blogging about topics that will put them in prison. I hope one day there will be freedom of speech in Iran and nobody will have to be killed or punished in jail by expressing how they feel. This makes me very grateful that we are able to talk about the topics we want in America without having to fake our opinions.

Second Life

I have only heard of second life a couple of times and wasn't really sure how it worked. Well, turns out it's a very popular role playing game. It starts where you have create an avatar. You can create this 'person' however you want. You pick the hair color, how tall you want them, you pick and choose every feature of these avatars. Once inside the game your released into community's of different people playing as their avatar. It really is a different world, you can get a job, buy a house, meet new people, go to events, It seems like there is everything that us humans would do. I've never played the game but I feel like it would be a good way of expressing your self, making a second life for yourself. The picture I added was part of the map of communities in this virtual world.
